Q: Can I play a character from the books and movies, such as Luna or Hagrid?
A: No, those characters don't exist at this RPG. Try to think of it as an alternate world.

Q: How long is a school term on Rebirth?
A:A school term (or year, if you prefer), is equal to four months real time. A new school term begins on the first of January, May, and September.

Q: Why is Joseph Witchard absent so much?
A: Jeffrey (Professor Joseph Witchard) is currently battling a rare form of leukemia. Sometimes he will be too tired or too ill to post. He always appreciates a get well email from fellow Potter fans!

Q: How do Quidditch matches work on this RPG?
A: Quidditch winners are decided by role play quality. When a match is role played, the referee will look at both teams' and look for good description, good grammar and spelling, etc.

Q: Who hosts the Rebirth homepage?

Q: What exactly is Yuku?
A: Yuku is our message board host. In order to apply for membership and post on the Hogwarts board, you will need a Yuku account. You can register one, completely free, at Yuku.com.

Q: I found a post on the Hogwarts board that is in violation of the Rebirth Rules and Regulations. How do I report this post?
A: On every post, under the author's username, avatar, and subtitles is a button labeled Interact. You click that button, and it will give you a list of options to select. Select Report Post and follow the instructions given to report the post.

Q: How do I become a Prefect, or Head Boy or Head Girl?
A: Be a loyal and productive member! Make good posts, help other members, be active on the board. Those things are what we look for when selecting Prefects at the end of every term.

Q: How do I become a Moderator or Administrator?
A: DO NOT ask us. We will ask you if we decide we need more senior staff. However, when we select Moderators and Administrators, we look for many of the same qualities we look for in Prefects. Good poster, helpful, an active member, etc. But always remember, do not ask us. If you ask, you will probably not be chosen. HINT: Be a Moderator BEFORE trying to be an Administrator!

Q: What is The Seven?
A: Please read the RPG current plot.

Q: How do I make my role play eligible for Role Play of the Month?
A: First off, role plays in the Hogsmeade forums and the House forums do not qualify. If a role play is going to be accepted, it must in a public forum (such as the School Grounds forums or Hogwarts Castle forums). That said, making your role plays eligible is very easy to do. When you post in any one of the public role play forums, you will see a text input box labeled Search Tags while making your post. Enter your House and the words role play in the search tags area. For instance, if your were a Ravenclaw student, you would enter Ravenclaw Role Play. Now House Heads can search for role plays to nominate!

Q: How many characters am I allowed to play?
A: At the current time, there is no set limit. However, we recommend that you limit yourself to three to five characters so you will be able to role play all characters evenly.

Q: What is the Rebirth Daily Prophet?
A: The Rebirth Daily Prophet is an online newsletter that keeps you up to date on what's happening in the Rebirth Wizarding World. There are instructions on how to subscribe on the Daily Prophet page.

Q: Can I write for the Daily Prophet newsletter?
A: Possibly. We are looking for more writers. Anyone who is interested should send a mock piece of at least 300 words to writerapplications@uhrebirth.com.

Q: What does UHRRPG, UHRPG, OOC, IC, and BIC mean?
A: Those are different acronyms for the RPG and for role playing.

UHRRPG = Ultimate Hogwarts: The Rebirth RPG.
UHRPG = Ultimate Hogwarts RPG (The RPG before it was "reborn").
OOC = Out Of Character (used when speaking as just yourself, not your character).
IC = In Character (usually used when someone just made an OOC comment and are now returning to IC)
BIC = Back In Character (more or less the same as IC)

Q: Why does your message board have ads on the different posts?
A: Ads are only visible to non-members. Once you have set up a Yuku account and logged in, you will not see ads. It would cost us a lot more money if we were to turn off ads for all visitors.

While these are not really questions, they are more of general information to keep in mind when joining Rebirth:

Always read the RPG plot before applying at any RPG. Not only does it save you from getting confused later on, but it's just common courtesy to the Administrators who sort through applications.
Always read the RPG Rules before applying at any RPG. It saves you from getting warnings and deleted posts!
Be nice, be patient. Some days, we have a flood of applications. Setting up user tiles and forum accesses, as well as making sure the character biography checks out does take time. We will get to your application as soon as possible.
Always be as descriptive as possible when writing your character biography. Always use proper grammar and spelling.
Don't write a super hero character. Always balance your character out with strengths as well as weaknesses. All powerful characters make for boring role play.
